The third annual MEFTEC, the banking & financial technology event, took place on 12-13 Feb 2007 at the Bahrain International Exhibition Centre, and was the largest event in the series to date with over 700 delegates from 27 countries.
Over 350 financial institutions were represented at the event and the consensus view expressed by the exhibitors and delegates alike that the 2007 show was the biggest and best MEFTEC yet.
The organisers launched a number of new initiatives this year; including extending the event duration to two days, and developing a highly strategic conference programme in which Experian-Scorex participated. Giving a presentation on our behalf was Mr. Koray Kaya from the Turkish Economy Bank. As part of the credit risk management session, Mr Kaya shared his bank’s experience and illustrated the advantages gained by utilising Experian-Scorex's credit risk management tools. He said, “Speed and accuracy are two important factors when dealing with today's credit applications. Experian-Scorex's Strategy Management solutions are our main tools to succeed in this business."
Visitors to the Experian-Scorex stand at MEFTEC 07 were able to find out more about our solutions and services by speaking with our representatives Nabil Mowais - Regional Commercial Manager, Credit Bureau Line of Business for the Middle East, and Bijan Matin - Business Development Manager for the Middle East (both pictured, left).
Bijan Matin said: “The MEFTEC event is an important date in our calendar. Financial organisations in the Middle East face a varied range of issues, challenges and opportunities, and Experian has the skills and local expertise to help these organisations exploit the huge potential of the region. Being able to meet with key figures in the industry to discuss these challenges has already led to many fruitful associations, and will continue to do so in the future."
A MEFTEC 08 event is planned for next year. You can keep abreast of developments by visiting their website. |
